אורחHey Range Rover owners! I'm reaching out because I'm dealing with some issues with my 2018 Range Rover Sport HSE and need guidance on getting it properly fixed. I absolutely love this SUV, but it's starting to give me some trouble that needs professional attention.
The main problem I'm experiencing is with the air suspension. Over the past few weeks, I've noticed the vehicle sitting lower than usual when parked overnight. In the mornings, I get a suspension fault message on the dashboard, and it takes a few minutes of running before the vehicle rises to normal height. Sometimes one corner stays lower than the others, giving the car an uneven stance.
I've also started hearing a compressor running more frequently than before, even when the car is parked and turned off. This is draining my battery, and I've had to jump start it twice in the last month. Additionally, there's a noticeable hissing sound coming from somewhere around the rear suspension when I turn off the engine.
On top of the suspension issues, my infotainment system has been freezing randomly, the parking sensors are giving false warnings, and there's an intermittent check engine light that comes on and then disappears after a day or two.
I know Range Rovers have a reputation for being complex and expensive to maintain, especially once they're out of warranty. My Sport just passed the warranty period a few months ago, so I'm on my own for repair costs now.
I took it to the Land Rover dealership for diagnosis, and they've quoted me an absolutely insane amount. They're saying I need new air springs on multiple corners, possibly a new compressor, various sensors, and software updates. The total estimate was over 20,000 dirhams, and they want to keep the car for two weeks because they need to order parts.
I'm trying to find Range Rover professional repair services from independent specialists who really know these vehicles but can offer more reasonable pricing than the dealership. I need someone with proper diagnostic equipment who can accurately identify what's actually wrong rather than just throwing parts at the problem.
The challenge is finding a shop that truly understands Range Rover systems. These aren't simple vehicles – the air suspension is electronically controlled and integrated with the terrain response system, the diagnostics require specialized Land Rover software, and there are so many electronic modules that all communicate with each other.
I've heard horror stories about general mechanics misdiagnosing Range Rover problems or using cheap aftermarket parts that fail quickly. I definitely don't want to go that route and end up spending money on repairs that don't actually fix the issues.
What I'm looking for is an independent specialist with specific Range Rover experience, proper diagnostic tools and software, access to quality OEM or equivalent parts, fair and transparent pricing, and reasonable turnaround time.
Regarding the air suspension specifically, I've read that sometimes it's just a leak in one air spring that can be replaced individually, rather than doing all four corners at once like the dealer suggested. I've also heard the compressor might just be working overtime due to the leak, rather than actually being faulty itself.
For the electrical issues, I'm wondering if they're related or separate problems. Could a weak battery be causing the infotainment freezing and sensor problems? Or are these genuinely separate faults that all need individual attention?
I'm also trying to decide whether to fix everything at once or prioritize the most critical issues first. The suspension problem is definitely urgent because it's affecting safety and driveability. The infotainment and sensor issues are annoying but not critical.
Has anyone dealt with similar air suspension problems on their Range Rover Sport? What was the actual cause, and how much did repairs cost you? Did you use the dealer or find a good independent specialist?
I'm also curious about long term reliability. If I fix these current issues, am I looking at ongoing expensive problems, or do Range Rovers settle down once common issues are addressed? I love driving this vehicle, but I need to know if I'm getting into a money pit situation.
Any recommendations for trustworthy Range Rover specialists in Abu Dhabi would be incredibly appreciated. I need someone who can give me honest advice about what actually needs to be fixed and provide quality repairs at fair prices.
Thanks in advance for any help! -
