So my 2008 H3 has been sitting in the garage for maybe three weeks while I was traveling and when I got back it was completely dead, like not even a flicker from the dash. I jumped it and drove around for an hour but the next morning same thing happened so I'm pretty sure the battery is just done. Been calling around to a few places in Al Quoz and the prices are all over the place, some guys quoting me numbers that made me laugh. I stumbled on a site called Battery Zone while searching for Hummer battery replacement in Dubai and they seem to have the right specs listed but I wanted to check if anyone here has actually used them or if there's another shop you trust, especially for the H3 since I know the electrical demands can be a bit weird on these trucks. Just don't wanna get stuck at a petrol station again lol.
Three weeks parked and then dead twice is worth a closer look. A battery that dies after sitting can be a parasitic draw, and one that dies the next morning after an hour's drive can be a weak alternator. Get both tested before buying anything, or the new one goes the same way.
Ugh, the petrol station no-start is the worst, everyone watching you wait for a jump. Hope you get it sorted without the silly quotes. Prices around Al Quoz do swing wildly, so don't feel bad about calling around.
My H3 did this after a month-long trip once. Replaced the battery, and it was fine for a good while after, so mine really was just old. Ask whoever you pick for the manufacture date on the label, because shelf stock in this heat can already be tired.
H3 electronics are a bit fussy about low voltage, so match the group size and CCA to the original label rather than going cheap. A weak battery can also throw odd warnings on the dash until it's replaced. Anything that sits for weeks benefits from a maintainer too, especially in the heat.
How old was the battery before this happened? And did they quote you for a mobile fitting or only in-shop? If the truck won't reliably start, that's worth asking since a jump every morning gets old quickly.
