What Should Authors Examine Before Choosing Custom Publishing Services?

[cecila]

I’ve been looking into custom publishing services
, and I’m curious about something beyond pricing. How should authors judge whether a provider truly understands their manuscript’s needs rather than simply offering a standard package? I’d like honest opinions on editorial control, revision limits, rights, production decisions, and hidden costs. What questions helped you uncover important differences before committing to a publishing service?
